Steam turbines are of the most ancient equipment played important role in different industries. Produced force due to impacting steam molecules to rotor impeller, causes rotation of the rotor. In fact, steam turbine is a device which transforms heating & pressure energy to mechanical. There are some restrictions with steam turbines such as difficult starting up, steam loss, high expenditure for transferring steam, and so on Steam turbines are categorized in accordance with various parameters. Three main types of turbines are as following: – Impulse turbine – Reaction turbine – Mined turbine Steam turbines work according to Ranking cycle. Knowing design and application consideration and familiarity with turbines and their parts and maintenance is important for those who are working with such equipment.
